Northstorm made his way to the rock to where the leader's made their announcements. He leaped on it and he spotted a shrew. He quickly crouched down and steadyed himself. Making his way toward it then leaped on it, landing at the edge of the rock. The shrew had no chance as he snapped its neck. Northstorm picked up his head and looked out over the field. He stood up straight his powerful muscles rippleing under his dark tabby pelt. The sun shining down on him. He then made a small smirk. "This feels right..." He thought.

Stoneheart made her way through the grass and looked up at Northstorm. He looked magnificent as he stood tall up on the rock under the bright sun. "You know, I like the sound of that. Northstar," she said, tasting the word. "Maybe you'll get to be the next deputy. I think you'd have a pretty good chance." The idea seemed very appealing to her. Personally she didn't want to be a leader, but she had nothing against Northstorm getting the position. She looked at him with joyous eyes, secretly wondering who would be the first to go of Spicestar and Rainpelt.

"Northstar..." His words trailed off. "Northstar, leader of the mighty StormClan, yeah, yeah, I like the sound of that." Northstorm flexed his claw against the rock as he looked down on their fearful sharpness. "I am fit for the deputy position." He jumped down off the rock easily right next to Stoneheart. A gleam of ambition went through his pale yellow eyes. "Though if Rainpelt became leader then it would be a while before I can take control." He thought.

Stoneheart imagined what Stormclan would be like if Northstorm would be their leader. She saw a great clan, challenged by no other, ruler of the entire forest and the fields with it. And she could be next to him as his mate. "It would be great," she purred and rubbed her cheek against his. She would put in a good word for him if it came to that. She knew he'd look even more magnificent under the full moon in front of all the clans.

Northstorm purred at her support. He then turned to the prey that they caught. "We should head back to camp. We still have to go back swimming to reach our territory." He then picked up his shrew and headed back to the tunnel. His time was coming near. Whether Spicestar or Rainpelt was ready for it or not. "StormClan will be rulers of the forest, but not just in my territory." He thought with an evil smile "But the entire forest."

"Yes," Stoneheart purred. "But our prey will be wet, so if anyone asks I ran into you and we both fell in the river." She picked up her crow and started into the dark tunnel. She couldn't remeber the last time she had experienced such a nice day. She could feel the draft fading behind her as she went and even though they had just explored this tunnel, she was eager to check out the second one on a later day.

Nodding, Northstorm agreed to her excuse. "That sounds good to me". Makeing his way to the pool that lead to the river. He took a tight grip on his prey and jumped in and dived to the bottom, then picked his head up and swam up. Moments later he found himself on the surface water and swam to land. Getting out of the water he shook his pelt getting the uncomfortable feeling of water sticking to his dark tabby fur. He sat down, with his shre, waiting for Stoneheart to resurface.

Stoneheart watched the dark tom disappear in the river. She took one more moment to watch the sparkling crystals before diving in too. As she surfaced she saw Northstorm climb up on dry land just ahead. Paddling her way forward she reached the bank and crawled up. She walked a safe distance away from him and put her crow down before shaking her fur too. The sun was still warm and would dry their wet fur in no time. "Come on, let's pick up that squirrel and head back," she purred and started to trot lightly through the forest, looking back to see if he was following.

Northstorm Picked up his shrew and was soon behind her. As she looked behind to see if she was following he caught her eye and he walked right next to her, pelts almost brushing. His tail straight up. He wondered if she would ever considering to be his mate. She was beautiful and mischievous. Something he liked.

Stoneheart looked into his pale yellow eyes as he walked up to her. Their look sent chills up her spine and as he walked close beside her, her pelt tingled with exitement. She wanted to say something, but no word would fit her thoughts and the crow was still in her jaws. The two approached the place where the squirrel was burried. She quickly dug it up, but didn't find a way to carry it along with the big bird. She looked at Northstorm, asking him if he had room to carry it with her eyes.
