Northstorm shrugged. "True." He got up and stretched. "I'm good to go. Let's not waste time." Turning he went to the camp entrance. The more time they spent exploring the tunnels, the more time they spent exploring what was on the other side.

Stoneheart followed Northstorm and walked out of camp. Actually it was a good thing they hadn't met anyone. Someone might have wanted them to do some other task or join them, which she didn't want at all. "Do you want to go first this time?" she asked as they drew nearer to the river. "I mean, since I got to see the other side first the last time, you should get to be the first to discover something this time." She sent him a friendly smile.

Northstorm nodded. It would be fair, he guessed. As they make it to the shore he jumped in and followed the light of the cave. He quickly surfaced and shook his pelt. He turned and waited for Stoneheart.

Stoneheart lept into the river and followed Northstorm back to the surface in the cave. She looked at the middle tunnel, wondering where it went. The roots were hanging the entrance as they always had been, but she hoped they only were there and not further into the tunnel. "Ready to go?" She looked at Northstorm. She thought she had felt a draft coming down the tunnel, but she couldn't be sure if it was just her imagination.

"I've been ready." He stretched and walked to the entrance of the tunnel. He turned to Stoneheart. "I think I should take the lead." His tail flicked as he trotted into the tunnel, dodging the roots that hung to the top.

Stoneheart nodded and watched him disappear into the tunnel. She looked at the hole in the cave roof to remember where the sun was before she dodged the roots and padded under the ground and after Northstorm. The musty scent of dirt hung heavily here, but still it wasn't hard to breathe. She picked up the pace until she noticed Northstorms tail right in front of her and calmed her steps to match his.

Dodging a root Northstorm spoke. "I wonder if this leads to any of the other Clan's territory." He looked around at the tunnel if it had roots like this then it must lead under a forest. Maybe into FeatherClan or MoonClan. He turned to Stoneheart. "What do you think?"

Stoneheart thought of the options for a moment. The idea of having secret access to the different clans amused her. If they wanted to invade them later it would almost be too easy. "I have no idea, but no matter what," she purred, "you'll be the first to figure it out. Have you caught any scents yet?" If this tunnel led to another part of Featherclan territory, Stormclan would be able to attack from three directions at once and Featherclan wouldn't be able to do a thing. But if they could get into Moonclan from another direction, that would be a great thing too.

Northstorm tasted the air. It was bad luck all he could smell was dirt. He shook his head. "All I can smell is earth. We'll just have to wait and find out." He turned back to the entrance. He could see a tiny light at the end. Just a few fox lengths away and they will find their destination.

Stoneheart padded on in the darkness and didn't notice the light as soon as Northstorm, mostly because he was in front of her. But as soon as she felt a soft touch of wind hit her feet, she looked over his shoulder. All she could see was the light, but now at least they knew this tunnel led somewhere. "Do you think we'll ever tell the others about this?" she muttered. She wanted to keep it their secret for now, but someday they could use the tunnels to their advantage.
