He sat down next to Featherleaf and twitched his ear, and smiled. "Hah! They'd be jealous of knowing that we could fish and they couldn't! " he mewed with a purr. He stared at the calm waters for a moment, he could see some silvery shapes moving along in there. He grinned at the she-cat "You first" he mewed quickly. He honestly didnt care if they got caught, he could fish, and if Featherleaf could too, then that was just something that him and the she-cat were better at than the rest of the clan. Fishing wasnt as easy as it looked, and if this clan teased Featherleaf for it than that was just... a shame. He could fish, so could Leafpoppy maybe Featherclan should try and fish more often. Even in Stormclan he fished a bit, although not as much as he'd like to say he did. He blinked, maybe he'd keep his ears open. If fishing was an embarrasment to the clan, then he'd save the teasing for himself and warn Featherleaf or something before anyone spotted the two.

Featherleaf purred as she stared back at the river. "The only thing that I know about fishing is that you can't let your shadow hang over the water." The fish just swam by without a care in the world. She silently lifted her paw. "Like I said I had practice before but I'm not a pro at it. It usually ends up-" She sliced the water but her claws never hooked anything and water sprayed Dapplestone. She purred as she looked at the tom. "like that."

Dapplestone nodded to himself, she was right. He looked at the she-cat as she spoke again, and unexpectedly he got sprayed with water, it was a small amount but it was enough to at least get his face wet. He huffed "well I know you certaintly aren't supposed to spray your fishing partner like that " he purred and smiled. He looked down at the water for a moment and then at Featherleaf "try trying to claw the fish out a moment before its in the spot you want it to be. " he tried to make a better example, his words sounded confusing. "Like, when the fish is over there, then you strike because by the time you strike it'll be right where you want it to be" he mewed blinking, wondering if that made any sense. He saw a small sparkle of silver on his left and quickly dabbed his paw into the water, his claw hooked quite a small fish and he quickly dug it out of the water and threw it onto land. He grinned, at least his first example went well. He was expecting to fail miserably and have the fish slap him in the face or something like that. He quickly padded over to where the flopping fish was, gave it a small bite which ended its life, then came back to Featherleaf. He put the fish down and plopped down again beside the she-cat. "You try" he mewed with a smile.

Featherleaf listened to the tom's words. They sounded a bit confusing, but she mananged to put it together in her head. She quickly saw Dapplestone strike the water and saw a silvery body fly in the air. He killed and sat back next to her. You try. She heard him say. She nodded and followed the instructions. Not a moment later did a fish pop out of the water, slaping her in the face with much force and made her fall in the water with the fish. She wrestled with the fish under water, biting it where the spine was and resurfaced with the fish wiggleing in her mouth. Swimming to Dapplestone and climbing up on land killing the fish. She shook her pelt making little droplets hit Dapplestone. "No one gets it at the begining, I guess." She purred and smiled at the tom.

Dapplestone couldn't help but chuckle when the she-cat re emerged, he wasn't expecting her to pop out of the water with a fish. As the she-cat dried herself little droplets fell onto the tom but he didnt mind "Well at least you got it, right? " he mewed with a small laugh. He stared at the fish that now lay dead, wondering just how the she-cat managed to get the fish while it was still in water. Didnt really matter, it was still impressive. "Want to try again? Or are you done fishing for the day? " he grinned at her, he wondered if she'd ever eaten fish before. They were definently not Dapplestone's favorite though.

Featherleaf giggled a bit. "I think I'm done for today." She took one last try to shake as much water off her black and white pelt. Plus I don't think that the clan will eat this much fish." She took a step toward the fish and sniffed it. "I never really like the smell of fish, but if it fed me then it was fine." She looked away from the fish and at a flat rock that sat in the middle of the sun. She trotted over and jumped on it. She sat down and let the sun warm her up.

Dapplestone smiled "You never know, maybe your clan will like fish" he doubted that, but really you never knew. He shook his own pelt once but didnt join her at the rock, he never really enjoyed sunning himself. And he wasn't quite as wet as her, his pelt would be dry in a moment or two. He padded to his fish and stared at it for a moment, should they head back to camp now? He wanted to, and she was right, the fish didnt smell good at all. He picked his up and padded to Featherleaf, maybe he should lay in the sun a bit too, he might as well. He dropped the fish and jumped onto one of the other rock, he curled himself up and lay there motionless, he didnt mind the quiet it was actually nice.

Featherleaf watched as the tom jumped on the other rock and layed down motionless. "Her whiskers twitched holding back a laugh. "You look like you're dead." She purred noticing that the tom was enjoying the sun.
